Shelly Shrock, a locally well-known photographer, began creating driftwood signs after Dean received a wood-burning tool for his birthday. Deciding to try her hand at making a driftwood sign using this new tool, Shelly found she really enjoyed the creative process.
Yachats is an ocean town, and Shelly seeks and finds the perfect size driftwood, agates, and shells on the local beaches and with the wood-burning tool in hand and some imagination, creates her driftwood signs. After designing her first few signs she displayed them at the Yachats Farmers Market. People found them fun and inspirational and the signs sold out the first day! People began asking her to create customized signs, too.
She cleared a space in her photography studio at home for her driftwood designs and most days you can find her making her driftwood signs.
You can find her driftwood signs for sale locally at Styx, Stones ‘n Bones. During the summer and fall months, she sells her cards and signs at the Yachats Sunday Farmers Market. Her greeting cards are available at Mari’s Bookstore in Yachats.
